A commercial blender is built around its motor and its duty cycle. A domestic machine will make a smoothie; it will not make two hundred of them on a Saturday without failing, and that is the entire distinction.

Jug material matters more than most buyers expect. Copolyester resists the scratching that clouds a jug and eventually harbours bacteria; glass looks better and does not survive a busy bar.

Sound enclosures are worth considering wherever the blender sits within earshot of seated customers — in a café that is most of them.
