A reversible door can be re-hung on either side, which solves the problem that ends most cabinet purchases badly: a fridge whose door opens into a wall, a corner or the walkway.

It also protects you against a layout change. A cabinet that has to move to the other side of the kitchen in two years is not scrap if its door can swap sides.

Reversing is a job of undoing the hinge plates and moving them across — straightforward, but read the instructions before starting, because the handle and the door seal usually move with them.
