Hot Water Urns

A hot water urn holds a volume of water at temperature and keeps it there, which a kettle cannot do through a function, a conference break or a breakfast service.

Capacity is the decision, and it is about peak rather than total. Thirty cups arriving at once needs the volume ready; the same thirty cups spread over an hour does not. As a rough guide, 10L covers a small café or office, 20L a function room, 30L a conference break or a catering setup.

Urns draw heavily while heating and much less while holding, which is worth knowing when several run on one circuit.
