Behind a bar or on a kitchen line that matters for three reasons: the heat goes outside instead of into the room, the noise goes with it, and the cabinet gains the internal volume the compressor would have occupied.

The trade is the install. Remote units need pipework, a plant location and a refrigeration mechanic, which a self-contained cabinet does not. Worth paying in a hot, tight or noise-sensitive space; not worth paying otherwise.
