An underbench dishwasher fits under a standard counter and suits a café, a small restaurant or a bar — anywhere the volume does not justify a pass-through machine and there is no room for one anyway.

Throughput is quoted in racks per hour. Size against your peak service, not your average: a machine that falls behind at 7pm means staff washing by hand at 8pm.

Drain pumps matter where the machine sits below the waste line, which under a counter it usually does. Built-in detergent and rinse dispensers remove a manual step and dose more consistently than anyone will by hand.
