Dairy Cases

Dairy cases are open multideck cabinets: refrigerated shelving with no door between the product and the customer. That is deliberate — an open front lifts pick-up rates on milk, chilled drinks and grab-and-go food, where a door is enough friction to lose the sale.

The trade-off is energy. Open multidecks rely on an air curtain to hold temperature, so placement is critical: away from doorways, out of cross-draughts, clear of air conditioning outlets. Get that wrong and the cabinet will not hold temperature no matter how it is set. Night blinds recover a meaningful share of the running cost.

Self-contained units plug in; remote units connect to a central rack and suit larger stores. Hussmann supplies most of the range, in open and glass-door variants.
